Source of Mods
- Are these mods sourced from other tuners – No, these mods are custom sourced from Disassembly using Ghidra of the Raw Stock OEM roms available on bryans rom site. Ghidra allows dtc routines to be traceable. And special thanks to ripnet who makes M32R scripts and tools for us.
- Who is the Author of the tool? The tool author is JJroberts, with assistance from Hamish at EvoScan for testing, decompiling roms, rom identification, code reviews and in-car testing.
- What tools did JJroberts and Hamish use to source the table addresses – Ghidra, hex editor Hxd, and latest AI models are the primary tools used to discover and verify each rom id’s dtc, fuel and timing addresses traced directly to internal rom functions and assembly.
- Are the table addresses used by the EvoPro tool verified? Yes, each rom address was verified in a large excel table and as many OEM roms collected and catalogued as possible.
- How can I verify the changes made by the tool are safe? The addresses and rom changes are not a secret, you can verify them, anyone with a hex compare tool such as WinMerge or Ecuflash can compare the original rom from your car to the EvoPro adjusted file before writing the file back to the vehicle. Click File->Compare in ecuflash and the tables and items changed will show as Blue on the table tree. For more detailed analysis use WinMerge in binary compare mode. Please remember to read the safety notes on general engine monitoring and engine health at the bottom of this page before flashing.
- Couldn’t I make these changes myself or get it done without EvoPro? Yes but the time it takes to send the rom off to get a DTC deleted or EGR off takes days from germany or russia, or to spend too much time learning in EcuFlash and xmls – just takes too long – this tool is much quicker and faster entry level.
What’s Released in v1.01

Utilities & Fixes
- Closed‑Loop Disable – Locks trimming for wide‑band tuning.
- DISABLE P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected – Silences nuisance random‑misfire codes.‘P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected’ is not inherently a “nuisance” code—when it illuminates the MIL it means the ECU is detecting mis-fires bad enough to risk catalyst damage and emissions failure. In a perfectly healthy, stock engine you should treat it as a real fault.
That said, on some modified cars (especially turbo Mitsubishis/Evo X and other vehicles that are heavily tuned, run very rich at idle, have lightweight flywheels, big cams, decel fuel cut pops, etc.) the mis-fire algorithm can be over-sensitive. In those cases owners and tuners sometimes label P0300 a “nuisance” CEL and use a ROM patch or tuner option such as “Knock Detection / P0300 Disable” to suppress it. Disabling the code merely prevents the dash light and stored DTC; it does not stop real misfires from happening nor protect the catalyst.
Why the ECU sets P0300 in the first place
What the ECU monitors Why it can cry “wolf” on tuned cars • Crankshaft speed fluctuation between power strokes (primary method).
• Re-sync check using rear O₂ feedback to see if un-burnt oxygen pulses are present.• Very lumpy idle or decel “pops” can mimic uneven crank speed.
• Rich mixtures (E85, anti-lag, flame/crackle tunes) put raw oxygen & fuel in the exhaust and look like a mis-fire to the O₂ logic.
• Lightweight flywheels or stiff engine mounts reduce rotational inertia, exaggerating speed blips. When enough counted misfires exceed the “Type B” limit, the ECU logs P0300 and (for U.S./EU cars) flashes the MIL.
- Fuel Trim Disable – Turns off P0170‑P0175 when running MAF‑less.
- Rear O₂ Delete – Clears P0139/40 and P0420 while keeping front sensor intact.
EGR Delete (NA Lancers)
✓ EGR Openings Disabled (5/5)
✓ EGR Timing Advanced Value = 0
✓ Spark Advance RPM Limit = 0
✓ EGR Opening Multiplier vs APP = 0
✓ DTC P0249 ×2 Disabled
✓ DTC P0489 EGR Circuit Low Disabled
Cleaner, higher-density intake charge With EGR shut, the cylinders get 100 % fresh air (plus fuel) instead of a mix that can be 5–15 % inert exhaust. That raises the oxygen fraction, improves volumetric efficiency, and can be worth a few kW/HP at the same boost level. EGR carries sooty vapor and oil mist back into the intake. Over time it bakes onto ports, throttle plates, and—on direct-injection motors—the backs of intake valves. Blocking EGR keeps the whole tract noticeably cleaner and can restore idle quality.
Typical Workflow
- OpenPort 2.0 Cable→ Purchase from the shop https://www.evoscan.com/shop
- Plugin the cable to your car, key on, but car not started.
- Install and Open EcuFlash → Read Rom from ECU save as .bin file, also save a second original copy and keep it safe on a usb or elsewhere.
- Install and Open EvoPro v1.01 → Load your stock ROM (.BIN) via Binary Selection – Open File. make sure to rename .bin file before opening it – something like EvoProMod1
- Confirm ROM → Tick the exact model/year radio button.
- Fire Quick Commands → Click desired patches; watch the status bar turn green.
- Click Close Rom (optional, because the rom is already saved)
- Compare with Original ROM→ Use Ecuflash to open the new saved .bin file also open the original rom. and click “Compare ROM”
- Review → Check that you are happy with the timing and/or fuel adjustments before flashing.
- Flash → Save and write with ECUFlash + OpenPort 2.0 to the vehicle
- Clear DTC codes → generated during flash process, so they need clearing.
- Road‑Test & Log → Check AFR, knock, and adjust as needed. Important since the fueling mods might have pushed your AFRs at WOT. check that they are always between 11.0 and 11.8 AFR on your wideband for Turbo vehicles (for NA lancer its different) ALSO if you do not have a wideband and do not have TephraMod to monitor Knock Detonation on your Check Engine Light CEL, then DO NOT proceed with any fuel or timing based modifications, otherwise you will not be able to see the outcome of the adjustments.

Legal & Safety
For off‑road / competition use only where emission regulations allow. We have tested a number of roms and vehicles with these features, and that changes are not that different to what you can already do via ecuflash but just easier and a few extra features, it uses ecuflash checksum correction and ecuflash for ecu writing, The User assumes all responsibility for flashed calibrations. If your car feels laggier than normal it could be knock detonation – then do not boost and revert back to the original rom. Always datalog after flashing and ensure Zero Knock Sum, and AFR is safe between 11.0 and 11.8 at WOT for Turbo vehicles. Also beware that fuel quality can change drastically between changing petrols stations, and between octane Ratings at the pump. always recheck your AFR wideband after refueling at new and unknown fuel stations. Best protection is to always run TephraXmodV3 rom for knock light and knock protection to ensure your engine stays intact.
